Faithful Leadership
September 25, 2024
Leadership is influence; faithful leadership models Jesus and encourages others to grow in their relationship with Him. But you can’t lead others where you haven’t gone yourself.
Without intentional effort, our faith can stagnate. As this ministry year begins, seek the Lord in prayer over your Personal Growth Plan. Reflect on Psalm 139:23-24: “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Test me and know my thoughts! See if there is any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
The Personal Growth Plan helps us focus on key areas of growth and encourages us to narrow our focus.
Spiritual Discipline – Identify an area of spiritual discipline to focus on – read the Word, pray, worship, give, serve, etc. What intentional steps can you take to pursue this discipline?
Character Quality – Identify a character quality to grow in this month – patience, self-control, love, speech, peace, kindness, etc. What challenges your growth in this area?
Relationship – Identify a relationship to invest in this month – spouse, child, friendship, neighbor, etc. How can you pray for this person? How can you pursue this relationship?
As you seek to create healthy rhythms for engaging with God, share your growth plan with your group. This models your pursuit of God and encourages others to do the same, leading to greater intentionality with follow-up and accountability.
May the Lord bless your efforts to grow in faith and lead others to do the same.
